Full job description:

JDS Tuition Services are currently looking for Tutors for students with SEN, SEMH and/or Behavioural Challenges in the Cambridgeshire & Peterborough area. Previous experience as an outreach tutor is not necessary, but you must have experience of working with children with SEN, SEMH and/or Behavioural Challenges on a one-to-one basis

JDS Tuition Services offers a unique opportunity to make a difference in the community by helping students reach their academic and therapeutic goals.

The role:

• From 10 to 30 hours per week between Monday and Friday, term time only between the hours of 08:30-15:30
• Tutoring to take place within the student’s home, local libraries, community centres and safe spaces
• Working with students who are awaiting school placement, students who have been excluded from schools, students with various needs such as ASD or SEMH
• Students are aged between 4 and 24 years

The Tutor

• You will ideally hold QTS or equivalent, however, applications welcome from unqualified Teachers and Teacher’s Assistants with a strong subject knowledge Maths, English and/or Science
• If you are primary, secondary or SEND trained, we want to hear from you
• Be able to engage with students who may not be interested in education or schooling
• Be patient and understanding of the student/s you are allocated
• Prepare sessions – Lesson planning
• Complete weekly reporting on your student/s progress targets
